Why Submit Turf for Disease Diagnosis?
Field diagnosis of a turf disease is
sometimes complicated by the absence of some primary symptom patterns of
the disease at hand. Or, several diseases occurring during the same
season may have certain major symptoms in common. For instance, Fusarium
blight, summer patch, necrotic ring spot, Pythium blight, and
Rhizoctonia blight are spring and summer diseases affecting the same
cool season turf species. They each may develop a 'frogeye' pattern of
blighted grass with center green tufts. Many other similar examples
exist. Frequently, samples are not submitted until a treatment has been
tried and failed. You can save valuable time and money by submitting
a turf sample for diagnosis and getting back the correct Diagnosis and
Recommendations for your specific problem.
