Why Submit Turf for Nematode ID?
Symptoms of nematode damage appear similar to
many common turf problems. Poor response to irrigation, fertilizers or
fungicide applications may indicate a nematode problem. An accurate
diagnosis of a nematode problem can only be made on the basis of a soil
analysis from the damaged area, as above ground symptoms and root
conditions alone are not satisfactory to diagnose a nematode problem.
Nematode feeding reduces turf vigor and reduces its ability to survive
stressful conditions. Submitting turf for Nematode ID is inexpensive
when compared to the cost of unnecessary or poorly chosen nematicide
applications.
